MED-BCC: Medical Billing and Coding Certificate Program
(4 months)

Experienced medical personnel may enroll directly in this comprehensive 4-month course for medical billing and coding. Students should have sufficient prerequisite knowledge (see below). Tuition includes all textbooks and examination fee for the AHIMA Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam.

We suggest that you have a good working knowledge in the areas of Medical Health Insurance and Reimbursement, Medical Terminology, Anatomy and Physiology before enrolling in the MED-BCC program. If you do not have any experience in these areas, please consider the program below (Option 2).

MED-BCF: Medical Billing and Coding with Foundation Courses
(6-8 months)

Individuals with little or no prior experience in the medical field should enroll in this 8-month entry-level program that includes important foundation subjects. Tuition includes all textbooks and examination fee for the AHIMA Certified Coding Associate (CCA) exam.

Curriculum:
Medical Terminology (4 weeks)
Anatomy and Physiology (4 weeks)
Medical Health Insurance and Reimbursement (8 weeks)
Medical Coding (ICD-9-CM, HCPCS, and CPT) (16 weeks)

The following optional introductory courses may also be taken to supplement either the Entry-Level or Experienced programs.

• Keyboarding in the Medical Office Setting (4 weeks)
• Math Fundamentals (4 weeks)
• English Fundamentals (4 weeks)
• Medical Office Procedures (4 weeks)
• Medical Transcription (4 weeks)
